Description
- The word list was designed by Alexei Kochetov (with the assistance of Maho Kobayashi) to illustrate the production of word-initial consonants in several vowel contexts.
- The data are from 5 speakers from various locations on the island of Honshu.
- The simultaneous EPG and audio recordings were collected in the Linguistics Phonetics Lab in 2008-09.

Materials
- Words (alphabetical), produced in the carrier phrase Sore ga ___ to itta 'That is ___, s/he said'
- On average 6 repetitions of the words were elicited.
- In file names, 'c' refers to words in carrier sentences (e.g. atsui_c1-2_epJPf01: the second repetition in the first round of the word 'atsui' in the carrier sentence by JPf01).
- (The Japanese files have not yet been coded for segments/graphemes.)
